Here’s what people are saying about Lynn Grandy Butler and “Buzzin’ With Buzzy”:

A Parent’s View

Buzzy’s their friend
he’s a cute little bug:
he travels to each home and gets lots of big hugs.

And speaking of traveling
the little stars like to go
to the circus, a train ride, for pizza and a show.

Pinocchio and Lion King
these field trips are cool;
they’re much more exciting than sitting in school!

Their leader, Mrs. Butler
is energetic and dandy;
she likes trip so much
she makes them sell candy.

To the Kinderland Walmart to raise a buck or a penny
just to hear people say,
“No, I don’t want any.”

With a cute little smile
the little stars get through it;
with Mrs. Butler as leader
there’s just nothing to it!

A newsletter is sent
telling what is to come;
now a picnic with horses - how is it done?

Nineteen little stars they’ve been lucky, it’s true
They had Mrs. Butler
They’ll always love you!!!!

An Principal’s view
The students in Mrs. Butler’s Kindergarten class where discussing Thanksgiving and during the discussion, Mrs. Butler asked some very higher level questions for Kindergarten students and they responded very well. It was apparent that Mrs. Butler had exposed the students to a wide array of educational experiences, preparing them well for the future. The students answered the questions very enthusiastically, eager to earn their “bees” for exceptional responses (of which many students earned during my visit). Mrs. Butler’s room was adorned with student work and very prominently displayed is a list of good behaviors and manners as a reminder for the students. Essentially, there is a high level of energy and interaction between student and teacher in this classroom. Mrs. Butler successfully captures the student’s attention while providing an excellent learning environment for all children.

A Teacher’s View
Dear Mrs. Butler,
I just have to say how resourceful “Buzzin’ with Buzzy” has been to me. I am a fifth year kindergarten teacher, always looking for new ideas. I love how you created monthly ideas for a classroom. I use the book monthly to help me with crafts, songs, alphabet activities and finger plays. It is so nice being a busy teacher and new mom to have all the wonderful ideas in one resource book. I also loved the idea of “bee coupons.” I use them as a daily reward system. My students earn “bees” for their good “bee-havior.” On Fridays, the children count their bees and earn prizes from our bee-hive!Your resource book has made my life much easier. I highly recommend this book to any Pre-K through 1st grade teacher and parents.

A Friend’s View
It has been an exciting and fun journey with my friend, Lynn, for over thirty years! Making memories has become a normal part of everyday life together. I have enjoyed the experiences of assisting Lynn set-up/pack up her classroom for many years. Besides teaching her full-time school year curriculum, Lynn included many years of school-family outings, and prepared the students to present programs and musicals throughout the school year. She would create ways to begin fundraisers for her students. Each year involving her classroom parents, family, and friends to ensure the funds for additional, exciting field trips! Such trips would include train rides, circus, zoos, and visiting New York City! Lynn was known to go beyond in whatever she was involved in and this made her an exceptional teacher! I was able to see first hand the use of “Buzzy” in the classroom. I have been a teaching assistant since 1991. I am also able to implement the “Buzzy” incentive program. Currently, I work in the Fonda-Fultonville Central School Kindergarten reading program; the same hallway and classrooms where Lynn taught!

Lynn has always been a role model and inspiration to me. I hope that you will be encouraged to purchase her “Buzzin’ with Buzzy” resource book. I know that you will have the privilege of getting to know my friend, Lynn, better and possibly meet her one day. She is an amazing person!
